Sunshine Foundation hosted its 20th annual RunWalkBark4Dreams 5K in-person this year on Saturday, May 21, at Tyler State Park.

The children benefiting from the event are: Amaya, diagnosed with Septo-optic dysplasia, dreams of visiting Cinderella’s castle at Disney; Caleb, with Chiari malformation, epilepsy and global developmental delays, dreams of meeting Mickey Mouse at Disney World; Jazmine, who was born with a congenital malformation of the brain, dreams of visiting the Florida theme parks; and Zach, who has autism, epilepsy and sensory processing disorder, dreams of trip to Atlanta to visit the aquarium.

Sunshine Foundation is the original wish-granting organization to the United States, established in Philadelphia and continuously a top-rated charity. It answers the dreams of children, ages 3-18, who have severe or profound physical/developmental/intellectual challenges or trauma from physical/sexual abuse, and whose families cannot fulfill their requests due to financial strain that the child’s illness may cause. The foundation has spread sunshine into the lives of more than 41,600 children since 1976. Visit sunshinefoundation.org for more information.
