Sunshine Foundation hosted its 20th annual RunWalkBark4Dreams 5K in-person this year on Saturday, May 21, at Tyler State Park.
The children benefiting from the event are: Amaya, diagnosed with Septo-optic dysplasia, dreams of visiting Cinderella’s castle at Disney; Caleb, with Chiari malformation, epilepsy and global developmental delays, dreams of meeting Mickey Mouse at Disney World; Jazmine, who was born with a congenital malformation of the brain, dreams of visiting the Florida theme parks; and Zach, who has autism, epilepsy and sensory processing disorder, dreams of trip to Atlanta to visit the aquarium.
Sunshine Foundation is the original wish-granting organization to the United States, established in Philadelphia and continuously a top-rated charity. It answers the dreams of children, ages 3-18, who have severe or profound physical/developmental/intellectual challenges or trauma from physical/sexual abuse, and whose families cannot fulfill their requests due to financial strain that the child’s illness may cause.
