Middletown offers adult programs for skateboarding and more

Seminars on Medicare options and home selling are also offered

Adult Skateboarding Lessons

Learn how to skateboard in Skate the Foundry’s adult skateboarding program. This class is designed to teach participants in six 60-minute lessons everything they need to know to skateboard anywhere with confidence. Students will learn foot positioning, pushing, controlling their board, pumping and skatepark etiquette. In the second half of the course, participants will learn to skate ramps and do tricks, such as kick-turns, drop-in, ollies and more.

Taught by instructors from Skate the Foundry, a Philadelphia-based skateboarding program that won Best of Philly in 2019 as the best place to learn how to skateboard. Cost is $200 for residents, $225 for non-residents. Location is Middletown Skatepark. Fall session runs on Saturdays, Sept. 19-Oct. 24; winter session runs Saturdays, Oct. 31-Dec. 5. Time is 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Know Your Medicare Options 

During this seminar on Thursday, Sept. 24, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., learn: How Medicare works and what it covers; how Part “D” prescription cards work and how to pick the right one for you; and the difference between Medicare supplements and Medicare Advantage plans.

This seminar is suitable whether you have decisions to make during the upcoming open enrollment period (Oct. 15-Dec. 7) or just want to learn in preparation for that time. Presented by Steven Bobrin, a Medicare planning specialist with DelVal Senior Advisors. This is a free online seminar, and pre-registration is required. Zoom meeting instructions will be sent out to registered participants prior to the class date.

Home Selling Seminar

Learn how to net the most money for your home in today’s market, what home improvements provide the greatest return on investment, and what an expert real estate team can provide to you in increased offers and reduced stress.

This free online seminar has two sessions on Thursday, Oct. 15, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.; and Thursday, Oct. 29, from 2 to 3 p.m. The seminar is suitable for owners thinking about moving within five months or five years. Presenters are The Swain Team of Keller Williams. Pre-registration is required. Zoom meeting instructions will be sent out to registered participants prior to the class date.
