Sesame Place opened for the season on Saturday, Feb. 17, with its second annual family-friendly Mardi Gras Celebration, including special strolling entertainment, the Sesame Street Mardi Gras Parade and everyone’s favorite furry friends dressed in their Mardi Gras best.
In addition to enjoying Sesame Street-themed attractions, guests can enjoy Mardi Gras-themed entertainment, photo opportunities with Sesame Street friends and exclusive all-new perks for Season Pass Members. The event is included with park admission and runs through Sunday, March 17.
New for this year is Cookie Monster & Chef Gonger’s Pizza Party, where guests can make their own festive and flavorful pizzas at Elmo’s Pizza Kitchen. Cookie Monster and Chef Gonger will meet and snap photos with guests.
Returning fan-favorite entertainment includes Elmo the Musical, Live!, the Sesame Street Mardi Gras Parade and Mummers Band Shows.
Guests can also gather for a cozy Sesame Street Storytime on the upper level of Elmo’s Pizza Kitchen, earn a special prize in the Mardi Gras Mask Scavenger Hunt, and spot strolling entertainment throughout the park, including stilt walkers and bead bike brigades.
Menu items made famous by New Orleans will be available at the Mardi Gras Dine with Elmo & Friends, Cookie Monster’s Foodie Truck and the Plaza Carts. Treats include jambalaya, hush puppies, beignets and a variety of flavored funnel cakes.
For the first time, Season Pass Members can take advantage of the all-new Best Benefits Ever, including a dedicated park entrance for Platinum Season Pass Members and an exclusive meet & greet on select days.
