Vandalism to Romano memorial
On Jan. 1, at 2:15 a.m., an unknown subject destroyed a memorial for slain teenager Peter Romano, a student at Snyder Middle School who was shot on Halloween night when a gunman opened fire into a crowd of juveniles gathered in a shopping center near Bristol Pike and Woodbine Avenue.
Shortly after the shooting, Romano’s family set up a memorial at the location in his memory. Surveillance video shows the unknown subject damaging objects at the memorial with a baseball bat or club.

Bensalem Police announce promotions
Bensalem Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo, director of public safety Bill McVey and the Command Staff recently announced the promotion of Lt. Michael Brady and Sgt. Matthew Malcolm.
Both will be supervising the uniformed patrol division.

Persons on this list may have already been arrested on an active warrant. Police will confirm the warrant before taking them into custody.
Wawa assault
Charles T. McGroarty Jr., 35, of Trevose, has been identified by Lower Southampton Township Police as the male who assaulted the Wawa employee on Nov. 4, 2023, at 2:40 a.m. The Wawa is located at 676 Rosewood Ave. in Trevose.
A criminal complaint has been filed on McGroarty listing the following charges: 1 count Simple Assault, 1 count Disorderly Conduct and 1 count of Public Drunkenness.
A court date will be scheduled in the near future regarding this matter.
