Lower Bucks Chamber announces 2023 Champions of Commerce Award winners

TMA Bucks and Family Service Association are among recipients

The Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce recently announced the nine winners of the 2023 Champions of Commerce Awards.

“Today’s announcement of the Champions of Commerce Award winners not only serves as a celebration of business achievements, but also stands as a testament to the uniqueness of our community,” said Joseph Szafran, executive director, Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce. “Each year, we unveil those who propel innovation, nurture collaboration and shape the future of commerce, thereby ensuring that Bucks County thrives and flourishes. These champions are the heartbeat of our community, and it’s essential we acknowledge their contributions.” 

The awards, presented by Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic/St. Mary Medical Center and featuring emcee Trish Hartman from 6ABC, honor and celebrate the leadership of individuals, businesses and nonprofits that serve as powerful champions for the good of the Lower Bucks County community. 

The 2023 Champions of Commerce Award winners include:

  • TMA Bucks, Community Impact Champion: Presented to a person or business that has helped elevate and improve the quality of life in Lower Bucks County. Nominees in this category may be creators or stewards of art and community culture, or they may create or improve parks and other open spaces, plan community events or create community centers. 
  • Dr. Michael Magro, St. Mary Medical Center, Community Outreach Champion: Presented to a person or business dedicated to driving and achieving positive change in the community. Nominees in this category may be those who create quality services, or those who provide resources directly.
  • NorthPoint Development Inc., Economic Impact Champion: Presented to a business that has demonstrated a commitment to investing in job creation and growth opportunities in their business and/or community, providing a vision that will impact the economy of Bucks County over the next three years.
  • Wendy Ianieri-Salerno, Darianna Bridal & Tuxedo, Entrepreneur of the Year Champion: Presented to an individual who has taken a risk, persevered and succeeded in their professional career. 
  • Environmental Tectonics Corporation, Industry Innovator Champion: Presented to a business or entity that has successfully developed or implemented innovative technology.
  • Family Service Association of Bucks County, Nonprofit Champion: Recognizes a nonprofit organization that has made significant contributions and demonstrated a steadfast commitment to the betterment of Bucks County.
  • Yardley Restaurant Group, Startup Champion: Presented to a business, formed after January 2023, that has shown growth and development while overcoming obstacles and creating an organization and/or product from the ground up.
  • Bucks County Community College Center for Advanced Technologies, Workforce Development Champion: Honors an individual, organization or business that has played a pivotal role in creating a thriving and sustainable workforce by implementing innovative programs, providing resources and advocating for workforce development initiatives in Lower Bucks County.
  • Ryan Gordon, Raymond James, Young Professional of the Year: Presented to a young professional who is 45 or under and demonstrates personal and professional leadership and community service.

Nominations were held online, and winners were selected for each category by a panel. The winners were recognized at the Champions of Commerce Awards ceremony, held on Nov. 16 at The Fuge in Warminster.
