The Hicks Art Center Gallery is collaborating with Bucks-Mont Astronomy Association to present a free and open-to-the-public Star Watch event on Aug. 22, from 6 to 10 p.m. on the Newtown Campus of Bucks County Community College, 275 Swamp Road.
In conjunction with the current Hicks Art Center Gallery exhibition Astronomical: Gazing Inward & Beyond, exhibitions associate Clifford Eberly is leading a walk-through tour in the gallery at 6 p.m. with participating artists Katelyn B. Knight, Christine McHugh, Andrea Wallace and faculty Caren Friedman. Following the tour, attendees are invited to purchase authentic Thai food and beverage from the Thai Cha Chak Food Truck outside Hicks Art Center.
At dusk, BMAA club members will have telescopes available to look through and will be on hand to answer questions. Guests are encouraged to bring binoculars or their own telescopes if they have them. For comfortable seating, attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs, in addition to their curiosity and taste buds. BMAA and BCCC ask that attendees leave their pets at home for the safety and comfort of other participants and to prevent potential damage to delicate equipment.
