Family Service board of directors experiences growth

Philip Mitchell, Esq. and Jon Rubin joined

Mitchell

The 2022-23 Fiscal Year has been one of ongoing growth for Family Service. In addition to the launch of several new programs and services, the agency welcomed two new members to its board of directors.

Philip Mitchell, Esq. joined the board last fall. A partner with Cooley, LLP, Mitchell has provided health regulatory counsel to a range of industry clients, including hospital systems, provider practice groups, management services organizations, clinical laboratories, managed care organizations and health insurers, pharmaceutical and biologic manufacturers, and specialty pharmacies, other proprietary and nonprofit healthcare enterprises and investment firms.

Prior to joining Cooley, he was a partner with another leading law firm, where he was a member of its national healthcare and life sciences practice group. Mitchell has also previously served as an associate in the healthcare department of a leading Philadelphia-based law firm.

Rubin

Jon Rubin joined the board of directors in spring 2023. Rubin brings over 20 successful years of industry experience in strategic planning, identifying/analyzing problems and implementing plans, while systemically evaluating the process and impact of efforts.

Since January 2023, he has been a Principal at Health Management Associates, providing consulting services, technical assistance and support to healthcare and human services agencies across the country. Previously, he served on the administration of former Gov. Tom Wolf, as Deputy Secretary of the Office of Children, Youth and Family with the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services.

Julie Dees, chief executive officer of Family Service, is excited about their arrival. She said, “Philip and Jon personify our values at Family Service. Their skills and experience support our mission to listen, care and help, every day.”
