Bucks County Bar Foundation announces new member to board of trustees

Penn Community Bank’s chief legal and risk officer, Stephanie Schwartzberg, Esq., has joined for a three-year term

Stephanie Schwartzberg, Esq., chief legal and risk officer at Penn Community Bank, has been named to the board of trustees for the Bucks County Bar Foundation. She joins the leadership of the 501(c)(3) for a three-year term.

“I am honored to join the board of trustees of the Bucks County Bar Foundation and for the opportunity to collaborate with such a distinguished group of local legal professionals working to improve access to justice throughout our community,” said Schwartzberg. “I look forward to bringing my perspective as in-house corporate counsel to the organization and expanding the positive reach of Penn Community Bank in professional and community organizations throughout the region.”

The Bucks County Bar Foundation is the charitable arm of the Bucks County Bar Association. The nonprofit promotes and supports programs, organizations and individuals throughout Bucks County who are engaged in activities designed to foster respect for the rule of law, the advancement of rights, liberties and protections under the law, as well as activities which have as a principal purpose the advancement of social justice for the individuals, families and communities of Bucks County.

As chief legal and risk officer of the largest mutual bank in eastern Pennsylvania, Schwartzberg drives the overall legal strategy for Penn Community Bank, including governance, corporate law, banking and trust matters, risk management, commercial transactions, litigation, insurance and a wide range of contract negotiations across all business functions. Additionally, she oversees the bank’s compliance, IT compliance, fraud and security, vendor risk management, and trust efforts.

Schwartzberg serves as a member of the Pennsylvania Bankers Association Legal Affairs Advisory Committee, a mentor with the Mount St. Joseph Academy’s Firebirds 433 all-girl robotics team, and a board member of the Youth Orchestra of Bucks County, as well as an in-lesson aide and board member with the Ivy Hill Therapeutic Equestrian Center. She holds an undergraduate business degree from Villanova University and a law degree from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law.
