On March 2, 1973, Mark Capriotti made local history without even realizing it.

Capriotti was the very first baby born at Langhorne’s St. Mary Medical Center, which this year is marking its 50th anniversary.

To commemorate his own 50th birthday, Capriotti returned to the hospital for a celebration, which was attended by his mother Bonnie, wife Courtney and daughter Francesca; St. Mary president Michael Magro, DO, and other hospital staff; and several elected officials, including U.S. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick and state Sen. Frank Farry.

The two presented a special proclamation to Capriotti to acknowledge the significance — and rarity — of this milestone occasion.

In the first-floor cafeteria, guests enjoyed birthday cake, hors d’oeuvres and beverages, with Capriotti receiving surprise birthday gifts from St. Mary employees.
