The Grundy Museum, 610 Radcliffe St. in Bristol, invites the public to experience the social whirl of the Gilded Age. That’s Entertainment is a special program set for Friday, Sept. 9, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the museum.
Led by curatorial consultant John Whitenight and museum staff, the evening begins with an introduction to the carefully-scripted social expectations of both hostess and guests through an examination of objects in the museum’s collection. During the program, attendees will have an opportunity to scrutinize a dinner table in all its elaborate elegance, participate in parlor games and hear a performance of the popular music of the time. Participants are encouraged to come “dressed to the nines” in the era of their choice.
The program, part of Grundy Museum’s CanDoMore fundraising campaign, is $45 per person. Reservations are required. Tickets are limited and must be ordered by Tuesday, Sept. 6, through TicketLeap.com. Light refreshments will be provided.
