The Penn State Master Watershed Steward volunteers of Bucks County are now accepting online orders for native trees and shrubs through Wednesday, Aug. 31.
The third annual fundraiser offers 28 varieties of native trees and shrubs to order online and pick up at Warwick Memorial Park, Jamison, on Saturday, Oct. 1, the perfect time for planting.
Bucks County Master Watershed Steward volunteers will be on site to answer questions and safely load purchases into vehicles during pick-up time of 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. All trees and shrubs must be ordered online. Plants will not be available for purchase at the pick-up location.
All trees and shrubs are native to Pennsylvania and sourced from a preeminent native plant nursery. Native trees and shrubs can be planted for privacy, foliage, shade, attracting pollinators, adding habitat, environmental value or simply for beauty. They can also help intercept and infiltrate stormwater, stabilize soils and filter pollutants.
Trees and shrubs will be in 1-, 2- or 3-gallon containers. Healthy specimens are guaranteed at pick-up. Due to variations in planting, site conditions and care, no guarantee or refunds will be given after tree pick-up. Consider above- and below-ground utilities and mature growth size when choosing a tree, and always call 811 before you dig.
Quantities are limited. Ordering early guarantees the best selection. Visit extension.psu.edu/mws-tree-sale for more information.
