McDonald Elementary School’s Biography Wax Museum took place on Wednesday, May 18, serving as the culminating event for the graduating Bulldogs as they wrapped up their research and informational writing unit.
Students chose American and international persons of interest who have made significant contributions in the fields of science, humanities, arts, sports, technology and beyond.
Over the course of several months, the fifth graders used multiple biographical sources, both digital and print, to learn about the life experiences, both big and small, that shaped these historical and present-day contributors.
Students “became” their famous person by dressing in period costumes and reciting memorized speeches written in first person. The group of scholars wowed their parents, teachers and onlookers at their final performance outdoors on the McDonald campus.
