To celebrate the end of the ensemble’s 10th year together, Bucks County Women’s Chorus is presenting a gala concert on May 15, at 3 p.m. at Lutheran Church of God’s Love, 791 Newtown-Yardley Road in Newtown.
To mark the chorus’ landmark anniversary and to celebrate the end of pandemic restrictions on singing and live music, the 85-voice choir is offering a selection of songs from its concert programs of the past 10 years, including American standards, spirituals, folk tunes, pop/rock and more. During the concert, choir members will reflect on their experiences with the choir, which has presented more than 100 concerts since its inception.
The chorus has sung at the White House twice, at the Empire State Building, with ‘70s rock band Foreigner, and has embarked on four European tours, visiting Italy, Hungary, Austria, Finland, Estonia, Sweden and, most recently, Ireland.
Admission to the concert is free. A free-will offering will be accepted and will benefit a local arts-related charity. A reception will be held for choir members and guests following the concert. Masks are optional.
Bucks County Women’s Chorus welcomes new members in September and January of each year. Visit buckscountywomenschorus.com or call 215-801-1445 for more information.
