Dr. Robyn Graham’s book aims to help teens, parents navigate anxiety

She was motivated to write the book as a result of her own lifelong struggles with anxiety

Bucks County’s Dr. Robyn Graham, a former pharmacist, professional photographer and successful business coach, recently published You, Me, and Anxiety: Take Action Over Anxiety to Enjoy Being You.

The book is geared toward teens who suffer from anxiety and also aims to help parents identify anxiety in their child, recognize its symptoms, and help their child take intentional action to navigate anxiety so that it no longer has a negative grip on their life.

Graham was motivated to write the book as a result of her own lifelong struggles with anxiety. As a pharmacist, she witnessed the clinical implications of anxiety. As a teen and later as a mother, she lived with the social implications of anxiety. Since anxiety is often associated with complications such as eating disorders, drug addiction or suicide, Graham wanted to help teens and their parents to learn healthy coping strategies. It is her hope that once families take action over anxiety, they will be able to navigate life with it and lead joyful, purposeful lives together.

“Having lived with anxiety since childhood, I know what it is like to feel out of place and not be able to participate in many activities that my peers were involved in,” said Graham. “I’ve also had the experience of navigating anxiety as a parent of teens with anxiety. I want teens reading my book to learn that the sky is the limit, even though they have anxiety. My hope is that with this book, anxiety will become a subject people can talk about openly without shame or judgement.”

The book comes in a teen edition accompanied by a journal, as well as a parent edition. The journal inspires teens to take intentional action over anxiety using Graham’s signature 5 Cs journaling method for navigating anxiety, and provides a place to complete recommended exercises in the book. Since anxiety isn’t something one can simply “get over,” the parent edition has information that parents can use to help their teen navigate the challenges of anxiety.

You, Me, and Anxiety: Take Action Over Anxiety to Enjoy Being You is available for purchase as both a paperback and digital book at Amazon and Barnes & Noble and as a digital book at Apple Books.
