New CDL program offered at Bucks County Community College

Classes begin Dec. 13 at the Lower Bucks Campus in Bristol

Bucks County Community College now offers a way to earn a commercial’s driver’s license in just four weeks. Companies in the Delaware Valley are in extreme need of qualified drivers who have earned their CDL licenses.

Students who enroll in the program will gain the knowledge and skills needed through a combination of classroom, driving range and on-road training provided by the college’s partner, CC Training, LLC. Experienced instructors will help prepare students to take and pass their state’s Commercial Driver’s License test. With the transportation industry ramping up for the holiday season, it’s a great time to enroll.

Classes begin Dec. 13 and take place at the Gene and Marlene Epstein Campus at Lower Bucks in Bristol.

Students will gain specialized skills in areas such as shifting/operating transmissions, backing up and docking, space management, vehicle communications, truck maintenance, pre- and post-trip inspections and more. Once graduates pass the test and receive a CDL, they can be qualified to land an entry-level position as a tractor trailer driver with a quality carrier. In addition, the college partners with many companies that have in-house training departments to provide additional training to new CDL drivers.
