Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-1st dist.) was appointed to serve on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
HPSCI is charged with the oversight of the United States Intelligence Community, which includes the intelligence and intelligence-related activities of 17 agencies of the U.S. government and military intelligence programs. The committee handles a range of issues, including cybersecurity, election hacking and growing threats from both state and non-state actors.
“It is an honor to have been appointed to this position. As a former FBI agent, I look forward to using that experience to work with my colleagues on the committee in our joint mission to protect our nation’s security and oversee our intelligence agencies,” Fitzpatrick said. “Now, more than ever, it is imperative that we have reliable intelligence and accountable agencies that the American people can trust.”
