Sesame Place announced that for the first time ever, the Langhorne theme park will open in January, February and March for two all-new events – Elmo’s Furry Fun Fest and Sesame Place’s 40th Birthday Drive-Thru.

Enhanced health and safety protocols will be in place, including increased cleaning and sanitation, temperature checks and face covering requirements. Capacity will be significantly limited to create more space for guests to maintain physical distancing in a safe environment.

The park’s 17 acres of expansive outdoor space will be transformed into a winter wonderland so guests can enjoy the most fun-filled, safe and family-friendly events with everyone’s favorite Sesame Street friends.

Elmo’s Furry Fun Fest takes place Saturdays and Sundays, from Jan. 30-March 21. The new event series will offer guests the chance to celebrate everyone’s favorite red monster during Elmo’s Rockin’ Birthday Bash, treat little ones to a fun day during the My Fuzzy Valentine’s Celebration, and grab cozy jammies to celebrate our favorite feathered friend’s birthday at Big Bird’s Pajama Party. Reservations are required (admission is included for all tiers of 2021 Season Pass Members) and guests can choose from one of two limited-capacity time slots: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., or 2 to 5 p.m.

Sesame Place’s 40th Birthday Drive-Thru takes place Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Jan. 26-Feb. 24. The birthday-themed drive-thru is filled with magical excitement and surprises, allowing everyone to feel like the guest of honor as they put on their complimentary birthday hat, make their way through the bright and colorful birthday scenes, listen to energetic tracks from the popular Neighborhood Birthday Party Parade, and wave to Sesame Street friends dressed in their birthday best. Travel through a maze of whimsical birthday lights and venture through an illuminated cake of frosted fun. As guests make their way into the park, they’ll be greeted by even more Sesame Street friends in festive attire atop their birthday-themed floats.

While face coverings are not required throughout the drive-thru experience, they are required at transaction points (admission, merchandise and culinary), and when interacting with any Sesame Place team member. Tickets and reservations are required for all guests.

“Adding January, February and March for the first time to our schedule is a very exciting operational change for Sesame Place and we couldn’t be more excited to kick off a new year with new special events for our guests,” said Cathy Valeriano, Sesame Place park president. “While we continue to operate safely with limited capacity, our guests now have the opportunity to experience even more fun with an event option for everyone in the family.”
