Davis secures grant for Emergency Homeless Shelter

A check of $25,000 will be presented at the Levittown location tomorrow

Rep. Tina Davis, D-Bucks, has secured a $25,000 grant for Family Service Association of Bucks County’s Emergency Homeless Shelter from the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services.

“With winter approaching and COVID-19 cases steadily on the rise, there is an urgent need for secure and sanitary temporary housing for the homeless in Bucks County,” Davis said. “This grant will help Levittown’s Bucks County Emergency Homeless Shelter continue to provide safe temporary shelter to adults and children during this crisis.”

The Bucks County Emergency Homeless Shelter is a temporary residence for individuals and families who have lost housing. The shelter operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Typically, the shelter houses 75 people and one-third of its residents are children.

Davis will present the grant check to the shelter, 7301 New Falls Road, Levittown, at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 13.
