Cairn University’s School of Social Work is hosting the free webinar “Dealing with Conflict in the COVID-19 Era” on Dec. 2, at 1 p.m. Faculty member Dr. Lawrence Ressler will lead the webinar.
COVID-19 has forced much of society to change their routines, resulting in increased conflict, specifically within families and organizations. This time of heightened tension and uncertainty provides an important opportunity to consider what conflict really is and how we can responsibly manage it.
Ressler will discuss what conflict is; why change creates additional conflict; and what strategies parents, caregivers and those in the social work field can use to manage it successfully.
He speaks from his expertise as a clinical social worker and trained mediator. For over 25 years, he has worked with families, churches and organizations experiencing the destructive outcomes that can result from conflict. He is a faculty member in Cairn University’s School of Social Work and currently services as the new MSW program director.
