Bucks faculty drive 240 miles to deliver graduation greetings

To celebrate 28 future healthcare heroes, instructors from the Practical Nursing program delivered signs and certificates to the graduates on June 26

Bucks County Community College celebrated the Practical Nursing class of 2020 with personal visits by faculty to all 28 graduates on June 26.

Bucks County Community College Practical Nursing faculty members Patty Silveria, Marie Korb and Jeanne Ridgway hold handmade congratulatory signs they brought to drive-by graduations of all 28 students of the full-year program on June 26.

Due to the pandemic, a virtual graduation ceremony was videotaped and aired online the same day. Faculty led a caravan to the home of each Graduate Practical Nurse, or GPN, all of whom are poised to become Licensed Practical Nurses, or LPNs, upon completion of state licensing exams.

Bucks County Community College Practical Nursing graduate Angelique Lancieri, of Southampton, proudly displays her congratulatory sign, delivered by faculty June 26 in lieu of an in-person graduation ceremony.

The GPNs received a congratulatory lawn sign, graduation certificate and other gifts. The deliveries took 12 hours and covered 240 miles, stretching from Newtown to Perkasie, and from Philadelphia to Ewing, New Jersey.
