Children ages 4 to 12 will have the opportunity to enjoy the world of Baroque chamber music at the Lenape Chamber Ensemble’s “Concert-in-the-Round” on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 10 a.m. at Delaware Valley University’s Life Sciences Building Auditorium, 700 E. Butler Ave., Doylestown.
The celebrated chamber musicians who will perform Baroque favorites on Friday, Nov. 15 in Upper Black Eddy will bring to the children excerpts from the program of Vivaldi, Bach, Rameau, Lotti, Muffat and Reincken for two oboes, two violins, viola, cello, violone and harpsichord.
Violinists Cyrus Beroukhim, Emily Daggett-Smith and oboists Alexandra Knoll and Kathy Halvorson will entertain the children with their inspirational personalities during the Q&A session. Lionel Party, who has been heard many times as harpsichord soloist with the New York Philharmonic, will demonstrate his skill. Vivaldi’s Concerto for oboes, strings and harpsichord will bring all six players together on stage.
The children may join them on stage to view the instruments and chat with the musicians. Moderators for the 45-minute program are Knoll and Beroukhim, both from New York City Ballet Orchestra.
Admission is $2 for each child at the door. Parents and adults accompanying the children will be admitted free. To access the parking lot, take the State Street exit off Route 611 bypass and turn left onto New Britain Road. For more information, call 610-294-9361.
