Family Service Association of Bucks County announced it has received a major grant in the amount of $15,000 from The Provident Bank Foundation to support its Call Center.
Family Service was selected to receive the grant based on the Call Center’s goal of ensuring that Bucks County residents are able to obtain community resource information through a single phone call or contact with a social service or behavioral health professional. With the funds from The Provident Bank Foundation, Family Service will expand its existing resource database and train additional staff and volunteers to utilize, update and maintain the database.
Call Center programs include: Bucks County Housing Link (1-800-810-4434), the centralized point of information, assessment and referral services for all Bucks County residents experiencing a housing-related crisis; CONTACT Helpline (215-355-6000), a free, anonymous and confidential telephone service for individuals who are contemplating suicide, struggling with life’s challenges or in need of someone to listen; and National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (1-800-273-TALK), a 24-hour, confidential suicide prevention hotline available to anyone in suicidal crisis or emotional distress. This database expansion will increase the number of resources and broaden the range of information available to callers as they reach out for help during difficult times in their lives.
“Thanks to The Provident Bank Foundation, Bucks County residents will have easier access to the wealth of community resources that are available to them. More people will be able to access these valuable resources, and we anticipate an improvement in residents’ overall well-being as a result,” said Dina Della Ducata, chief executive officer of Family Service.
“The Provident Bank Foundation is honored to help further initiatives that are making a difference in the lives of residents in our local area,” said Jane Kurek, executive director, The Provident Bank Foundation. “We are pleased to support organizations, including Family Service, that contribute to a sense of community and offer a diverse set of programs that make people healthier, happier and safer.”
The goal of the major grant is to support organizations that have identified an immediate need in the community and for the individuals they serve. The Provident Bank Foundation’s funding directly supports efforts to enhance the quality of life in the New Jersey and Pennsylvania communities served by Provident Bank through three funding priority areas: community enrichment, education, and health, youth and families.
