Welcoming the Stranger recently announced that its 19th annual International Dinner will be held on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 6 to 9 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Hall in Bensalem. The evening will include a sensational international tasting buffet prepared by the organization’s students, as well as entertainment, an exciting two-tier raffle, unique silent auction and 20th birthday celebration.
Also at the event, WTS will honor the First Baptist Church of Langhorne. The church has served the community for more than 100 years and has been a devoted supporter of Welcoming the Stranger in its mission of providing adult immigrants and refugees to the U.S. with free educational opportunities and resources. Offering classes in English, computer skills and U.S. citizenship preparation, the nonprofit has served nearly 4,500 students from 104 different countries since its inception in 1999.
The International Dinner is an opportunity for the community to celebrate the fellowship of immigrant and American neighbors, while helping newcomers to the country develop self-sufficiency through education.
