Stargazing: How to View the Night Sky: The public is invited to attend Stargazing: How to View the Night Sky at 6:30 p.m. at the Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Library, 680 Radcliffe St., Bristol. Members of the Bucks-Mont Astronomical Association will be on hand to show participants how to use telescopes and binoculars to view the night sky. Those with their own personal telescope or binoculars are welcome to bring them to the event. This free, rain-or-shine event is appropriate for ages 8 and up. Back-to-School Nights: Parents and teachers are encouraged to participate in “Back-to-School Nights” scheduled by each school in the Bensalem Township School District. Staff members and administrators will discuss academics, explain teacher expectations and student responsibilities, and present an update of school policies and procedures. “Back-to-School Nights” are scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on the following dates: Thursday, Sept. 12, at Valley, 3100 Donallen Drive; Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Russell C. Struble, 4300 Bensalem Blvd.; Thursday, Sept. 19, at Cecelia Snyder, 3330 Hulmeville Road; Monday, Sept. 23, at Belmont Hills, 5000 Neshaminy Blvd; Tuesday, Sept. 24, at Samuel K. Yardley Makefield Library Book Sale: The Yardley Makefield Library, at 1080 Edgewood Road in Yardley, is hosting a book sale on Sept. 13 and 16, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sept 24, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be adult books and audio books available, as well as children’s books, games and puzzles, DVDs, CDs, prints and comic books. Cat Adoption: Come meet the furry love of your life at the Cat Tales Adoption Center, at the Warrington Pavilion Shopping Center, 1111 Easton Road, Suite 17 (next door to Animal Lifeline Thrift Store), in Warrington. Comic Fest: This family-friendly event, a celebration of comics, pop culture, creativity and fun, is taking place on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bucks County Free Library’s  Quakertown Branch; and Saturday, Sept. 28, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Levittown Branch. This event features artists and authors, superheroes, games, crafts, activities for children, storytimes, costume parades, food and more. Attendees are encouraged to come in costume. ‘Know Your Rights’ Seminar: The Bucks County Branch of the NAACP is conducting a “Know Your Rights” seminar at 10 a.m. at the Bucks County Free Library’s Bensalem branch, located at 3700 Hulmeville Road. SEPTEMBER 16

Code Club: The Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Library, 680 Radcliffe St. in Bristol, is hosting Code Club, a STEM educational series for children in grades 2 through 8. The club will meet from 5:30 to 7 p.m. weekly. Students in grades 2-4 will meet on Mondays, and grades 5-8 will meet on Tuesdays. Using Prenda software, children will learn how to code in Blocky, JavaScript, HTML/CSS and Python and to build websites, video games, apps and more. Registration is required. Participants are invited to bring their own laptop or Chromebook to each session. A limited number of library Chromebooks will be available to use.
