Vaping: The Growing Trend Among Middle & High School Students takes place Sept. 4 at 6:30 p.m. Between 2017 and 2018, e-cigarette use increased 78 percent among high school students, and 48 percent among middle school students. Vapor-linked breathing problems, including severe lung damage, are being reported in states around the country and the CDC is now investigating. Most of the teenagers are otherwise healthy, but go to the doctor with symptoms of a bad upper respiratory infection or pneumonia that quickly becomes worse. During this event, the Council of Southeast Pennsylvania talks about this growing trend, the hidden dangers, risks and prevention.
