Bucks County Community College recently recognized 100 volunteer firefighters who completed national certification training through the college-run Bucks County Public Safety Training Center.

The firefighters were honored at a ceremony on May 21 at the college’s Newtown campus.

Bucks instructors led three classes this spring at the Lower Bucks Public Safety Training Center in Croydon, the Bucks County Public Safety Training Center in Doylestown, and the Ottsville Fire Company.

Three firefighters – one from each class – were recognized at the ceremony with an Outstanding Student Award. They are: John Otte of the Hilltown Township Volunteer Fire Co.; Bryan Warner of Levittown Fire Co. No. 2; and Joseph Fortunato of the Northampton Township Volunteer Fire Co.
