The Newtown Athletic Club, Herschel Walker (former pro football player with the Philadelphia Eagles and Heisman Trophy winner), and Jim Worthington (owner of the NAC) are co-hosting a luncheon for the National Fitness Foundation, celebrating the launch of America’s first National Endowment for Youth Sports. This will take place Thursday, April 18 from noon to 2 p.m. at The Fitler Club, 2400 Market St., №100, Philadelphia.

This is a private event to introduce the concept of a perpetual funding source for the work of the foundation to interested parties who will be able to support and/or create awareness for the endeavor. Representatives from local professional sports teams and high-level corporations will be in attendance. Also in attendance will be Congresswoman Madeleine Dean (D-PA4) and Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA1).

Clay Walker, executive director of the National Fitness Foundation will be in attendance as well to inform the group of the work in progress to meet the goals of creating a more vibrant and healthier America by engaging our youth and all Americans in sports and physical activity.
