Volunteers prepared kosher apple kugel for local seniors who are unable to shop or cook for themselves
The Times
Volunteers in the RSVP Philadelphia Home Delivered Meals Program at KleinLife in Northeast Philadelphia display the kosher apple kugel they prepared for Passover, and added to the holiday meals for seniors throughout Philadelphia, Bucks and Montgomery Counties who are unable to shop or cook for themselves.
The Passover meals will be delivered in time for the holiday, which will be observed April 19–27.
Pictured with some of the meals they prepared are volunteers (from L) Phyllis Schultz, Ellen Schultz, Zelda Kresloff, Sandie Buller, Ronnie Jacobs and Lynore Eisman.
The RSVP Philadelphia Home Delivered Meals Program provides some 70,000 meals annually. The program includes “Cook For A Friend,” which depends on volunteer groups and organizations to prepare meals, which are packaged and frozen for delivery by a group of volunteer drivers.
