Alexander Fraser, producing director of Bucks County Playhouse, recently announced that Scott F. Blacker was appointed director of advancement at the Playhouse in fall 2018.

“Scott has an impressive history working in development and fundraising in the nonprofit sector of our region, and we are very pleased he has become a member of our team,” Fraser said.

Blacker brings an extensive background to the historic Playhouse. He most recently served as the vice president of development for Livengrin Foundation, a nonprofit drug and alcohol treatment center in Bensalem, in which capacity he oversaw a successful $8 million capital campaign. He also managed a major gift from actor Richard Gere.

Prior to his tenure there, he was the director of development for the Philadelphia-based Council for Relationships. He was also the national director of external affairs for the LEAD Program, a national nonprofit founded at the Wharton School that works to nurture tomorrow’s diverse leaders through collaborations between America’s premier corporations, higher education institutions, nonprofits and government agencies. Additionally, Blacker served as Pennsylvania campaign executive for Jewish National Fund, where he was awarded National Associate of the Year.

Blacker’s career in development began in the political arena, where he worked on several campaigns including the successful election of Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice Max Baer in 2003, for which he served as the director of fundraising. In addition, he served as an aide to former House Majority Leader Ivan Itkin and Bensalem Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo.

Blacker graduated with a business degree from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, where he served as student government president. He studied public administration on the graduate level at Temple University. He resides in Newtown with his family.
