Bucks County Community College presents the Hickory Brass Band Holiday Music Concert on Friday, Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m. as part of the Bucks Live! series of cultural events.

Philadelphia’s premier brass orchestra, founded in 2001 by trumpeter Bob Wagner and trombonist Gail Glass-Wagner, will perform an extended lineup of holiday music that’s sure to put attendees in the spirit of the season. The concert features the music of Stan Kenton, with selections such as “Do You Hear What I Hear,” “Feliz Navidad” and more.

Guest narrator Kevin Spencer will read holiday-themed selections by great wordsmiths including Lazarus, Wordsworth and Longfellow. With poetry, jazz, pop and brassy big band sounds, plus some special surprises, this unique holiday concert is sure to enchant and delight.

As a special treat, free hot cocoa and treats will be served in the Gateway Center Atrium just before the show.

The Hickory Brass Band Holiday Music Concert takes place in the Kevin and Sima Zlock Performing Arts Center, located inside the Gateway Center building on the campus at 275 Swamp Road, Newtown. Parking is free. The theater is equipped with audio-loop technology for the hearing impaired.

General admission tickets are $12 for adults, $5 for children and seniors, and free for BCCC students with current ID. A limited number of VIP tickets are available for $20, which includes a pre-concert reception from 6 to 7:15 p.m. and reserved seating. The reception includes light hors d’oeuvres and two glasses of wine or beer. VIP ticket holders must be 21 or older. Tickets can be purchased at bucks.edu/tickets or at the door.
