Newtown podiatrist Dr. Lawrence Kalker is partnering with Valley Youth House in Warminster and the Bucks County Emergency Homeless Shelter in Levittown for the 6th annual Holiday Sock Drive to benefit both shelters.

The drive will take place now through Jan. 1. Kalker Podiatry is reaching out to patients as well as the community at large to donate new pairs of socks to these two organizations. Since 2013, the Sock Drive has collected nearly 5,000 pairs of socks and more than $2,000 in monetary donations.

Socks may be dropped off at Kalker Podiatry, 6 S. Sycamore St., Newtown. Monetary donations are accepted as well. Checks should be made out to the organization of your choice.

Valley Youth House is a 13-bed facility for runaway, homeless, troubled, abused and neglected boys and girls ages 17 and under. The shelter is a safe haven for young people with the ultimate goal of having them rejoin their families.

The Bucks County Emergency Homeless Shelter, operated by Family Service Association of Bucks County, is a temporary residence for individuals and families who have lost safe and stable housing.
