Team Mets won the spring-summer league billiards championship on Sept. 17 during the tournament held at the James. E. Kinney Senior Center. The Mets were captained by Fred Brandkamp and beat the Yankees captained by Brandon Byers in the final best of three round, winning 2–1.
League commissioner Pete Palestina said the regular season league play started on April 23 and concluded Sept. 17 after 75 games were played by each team prior to the playoffs for the championship. A total of six teams made up the league with three to four players assigned to each team.
The fall-winter league began play on Sept. 24 and players had until Sept. 17 to sign up. The league plays on Mondays unless there is a holiday closing, in which case the games that week will be played on a Tuesday.
