Welcoming the Stranger, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, will host its 18th annual International Dinner on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 6 to 9 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Hall in Bensalem.
The evening will include a sensational international tasting buffet prepared by Welcoming the Stranger’s students, as well as an exciting two-tier raffle, unique silent auction collection, and fun activities. Guitarist and vocalist Jacob Graff will be the musical guest.
This year, the United Christian Church of Levittown will be honored. UCC Levittown has been a long time, dedicated partner of Welcoming the Stranger’s mission of providing adult immigrants and refugees to the U.S. with free educational opportunities and resources. WTS offers classes in English, computer skills and U.S. citizenship preparation. Since 1999, it has served more than 4,000 students from 100 different countries.
The International Dinner is an opportunity for people to celebrate the fellowship of immigrant and American neighbors, while helping newcomers to the country develop self-sufficiency through education. When people attend the event, they are quickly reminded of the power found in community collaboration and support to engage and empower those who need help.
Tickets are now on sale, and can be purchased on Eventbrite (search Welcome the Stranger in Bensalem), or by sending a check for $30 a ticket (with name to hold a reservation under) to Welcoming the Stranger, PO Box 1156, Langhorne PA 19047.
