Bucks County Free Library hosts first BCFL Comic Con

The event will take place Saturday, May 5 at the Langhorne, Doylestown and Quakertown branches

Bucks County Free Library’s first-ever Comic Con will take place on Saturday, May 5 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The family-friendly celebration of comics, pop culture, creativity and fun will take place at the Doylestown, Langhorne and Quakertown branches.

The library recently announced the featured guests for BCFL Comic Con: novelist and comic-book writer Chuck Wendig, science fiction/fantasy author Kristina Garlick, and comic book artist and Inkpot Award-winner Al Wiesner.

Featuring artists and authors, drawing/cartooning instructional programs for children, costume parades, face painting, games, children’s crafts, storytimes and more, this event has something for everyone.

Food, including Nina’s Waffles and Ice Cream, will be available for purchase at each location. New and vintage comic books, artwork and collectibles will also be on sale by individual authors, artists and sellers, and will vary by location.

Attendees are encouraged to come in costume. Prop weapons resembling guns are not permitted. Other types of prop weapons are permitted.

The Doylestown branch is located at 150 South Pine St. in Doylestown; the Langhorne branch is at 301 South Pine St. in Langhorne; the Quakertown branch is at 401 West Mill St. in Quakertown. For more information, visit buckslib.org
