Butterfly House Tour: This event will take place at Churchville Nature Center, 501 Churchville Lane in Churchville, at 11 a.m. The Butterfly House at Churchville will be open through mid-September and will include a variety of special events. Flutter passes (a season pass) are available for purchase. Butterfly house tours are free for Churchville Nature Center members and cost $5 for children ages 4–13 and $8 for adults. Hot Dogs & Cool Cats: The Women’s Humane Society will host a “Hot Dogs & Cool Cats” summer-themed adoption event from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The day-long event will feature discounts on adoptions, including two-for-one cats and kittens, 50 percent off small animals and $10 senior dogs. Tracking Wild Animals: This event will take place at Silver Lake Nature Center, 1306 Bath Road in Bristol, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Wild animals leave behind all types of signs that give clues to their behaviors. During this expedition, participants will learn how to examine animal signs and then make a plaster cast of an animal track to take home with them. All ages welcome. Cost is $3.
