Home Depot retail theft
Bensalem Police are investigating a retail theft at the Home Depot, located at 1336 Bristol Pike, on Sept. 16. It was reported at approximately 11:50 a.m. that three unknown Hispanic males arrived in a dark SUV and entered the store. Two of them concealed several rolls of scotch tape and two knives worth $130 total. An employee approached the men, and they ran on foot toward the wooded area.

Giant retail theft
Bensalem Police are investigating a retail theft at the Giant, located at 2721 Street Road, on Sept. 12. It was reported at 10 p.m. that an unknown black male entered the store and stole approximately $120 worth of Liquid Tide detergent, Liquid Gain detergent and Drano. He fled the area on a black mountain bike.

Theft/fraud investigation
Bensalem Police are investigating a Theft/Fraud that occurred at the Target, located at 800 Rockhill Drive, on Sept. 19. It was reported at approximately 8:30 p.m. that the victim’s wallet was stolen from her purse while shopping earlier. The victim then began to receive alerts from the bank stating her stolen debit card was used at Target for multiple purchases totaling $1,700.
The suspects were described as an unknown black male wearing a face mask and a black female wearing a face mask. They fled the area in a gray sedan, possibly a Kia Rio.

Bensalem Public Safety members attend mass shooting presentation
On Feb. 14, 2018, a mass shooting took place at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, leaving 14 students and three staff members dead. Law enforcement responded to this chaotic scene and faced the unimaginable, but they still had a job to do. The Coral Springs Police Department led the efforts to apprehend the killer, clear the school, treat the wounded and assist in the healing process of those impacted by this tragedy.
The PA Southeast Chiefs Association and Parx Casino recently hosted Coral Springs Deputy Chief Ryan Gallagher and Major Scott Myers’ presentation of their agency’s response to that day. Their presentation was an eye-opening, firsthand account of the environment they encountered, with insights as to what proved effective and what areas needed improvement.
This training was valuable to the audience of over 300, which consisted of police, fire and EMS personnel from around the area, as well as school district officials and municipal leaders. The goal of the presentation was to prevent these tragedies from occurring and prepare local public safety members, including in Bensalem, for their response to critical incidents.
