Sheriff’s office warns locals of phone scam

At no point will the Bucks County Sheriff’s office ever call and ask for money

The Bucks County Sheriff’s office has been made aware that there is a current phone scam in which the caller states they from the Bucks County Sheriff’s office. The caller proceeds to inform the recipient he/she missed jury duty and a warrant would be issued for his/her arrest, unless the recipient of the call wires money, gives account information, purchases gift cards and supplies the information on them.

At no point will the Bucks County Sheriff’s office ever call and ask for money – in any form – to forgive a warrant, or prevent a warrant from being issued. If you receive a call like this, simply hang up. Do not give the caller any information.

If you have any questions as to whether the call was a scam, call the Sheriff’s office at 215-348-6124.
