Neshaminy falls in state basketball quarterfinal

Chris Arcidiacono and Charles Dominick played great on Saturday, but it wasn’t enough for the Neshaminy High School boys basketball team, which dropped a 77–70 decision to Abraham Lincoln in a PIAA Class 6A quarterfinal game at Archbishop Ryan.

Lincoln’s 6-foot-6 Tyree Corbett dominated inside, scoring a team-high 29 points.

Shakeir Morrison and Khalif Meares added 13 and 10 points, respectively, for Lincoln.

Lincoln (24–6), the District 12 champion, advanced to Tuesday’s semifinals against Hazleton, a 94–86 winner over Abington. Roman Catholic and Pine-Richland will meet in the other semifinal.

Neshaminy (19–11), which was the ninth-place team from District One, won two games in the state tournament.

Arcidiacono made two 3-pointers and was 21-of-23 from the line for a game-high 35 points.

Dominick made seven 3-pointers and finished with 23 points. ••
