Sunshine Foundation — the original wish-granting organization founded 50 years ago by Philadelphia Police Officer Bill Sample — is calling on the community to help make dreams come true for children with lifelong special needs before the year ends.
This month, Julia, a local child with level 3 severe autism and epilepsy, is dreaming of visiting the Magic Kingdom to meet the princesses. Thanks to local supporters, including Gannon Insurance Agency, Feasterville Business Association, and Neshaminy High School, they’re close to making her dream a reality — but many more children are still waiting.
“Steve, April and the team at Gannon are always so warm and welcoming and generous to Sunshine Foundation. We are so grateful to be closer to making sweet Julia’s dream come true!” said Kate Sample, Sunshine Foundation President.
Sunshine Foundation has granted dreams to more than 44,000 children since 1976 — children who may be turned away from other wish-granting organizations because their diagnosis isn’t considered life-threatening. Common dreams include visits to Disney World, Universal Studios, and Legoland Florida, as well as bedroom makeovers, adaptive equipment, and more.
You can help make the next dream come true. Give before December 31 to bring joy and hope to a child who needs it most.
