Join Maternity Care Coalition (MCC) for a community baby shower celebrating new and expectant parents based in Bucks County. Families expecting babies, or with babies up to six months old, are invited to attend with their loved ones. The exciting day will include an afternoon of games, food, raffles, free baby care items, and valuable parenting information and resources.
The shower will be held Thursday, June 5 from 12:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M. at Silver Lake Nature Center at 1306 Bath Road, Bristol, PA 19007.
The community baby shower demonstrates MCC’s commitment to maternal and child health and will support parents, families, and pregnant people on their pregnancy and parenting journey by providing them with essential resources, supplies, and education, and fostering meaningful connections.
MCC seeks to improve birth outcomes for mothers and babies in Bucks County. This is accomplished through a range of services, including home visiting, community and parenting education, doula and lactation support, behavioral health services, community reproductive health resources, and perinatal workforce development.
Samia Bristow, Vice President of Programs, Maternity Care Coalition “At Maternity Care Coalition, we work to increase support throughout pregnancy, labor and birth, and postpartum to address maternal and infant mortality. I envision that when anyone is seeking a culturally inclusive support system, doula and lactation services, and other resources to support having healthy birth outcomes in Bucks County, families come to the Maternity Care Coalition. Maternal health is a crucial part of overall women’s health, and our community baby shower aims to uplift, celebrate, and empower pregnant people, mothers, and birthing families. This demonstrates our daily commitment to birthing people and families in Bucks County and each county we serve.”
Maternity Care Coalition envisions a future where parents impacted by racial and social inequities in Pennsylvania and Delaware can birth with dignity, parent with autonomy and raise babies who are healthy, growing, and thriving.
