Andalusia Historic House, Gardens & Arboretum is excited to host the third annual Garden Symposium on Thursday, May 1. The event, which will take place entirely on Andalusia’s grounds, will span a whole day and give garden enthusiasts from near and far the opportunity to hear and learn from four special guest speakers: Jo Thompson, Kelly D. Norris, Åsa Gregers-Warg, and Charlotte Harris.
All four speakers are celebrated garden designers and horticulturists who have each prepared an insightful and inspiring lecture for the more than 250 expected attendees.
Jo Thompson is an international garden designer known for sustainable landscapes, exquisite planting, and a deep understanding of place. She has been consistently listed as a top designer by House & Garden and Country Life magazines.
Kelly D. Norris is a leading horticulturist exploring the narrative of place through plantings and landscape interventions. His work has appeared in The New York Times, Better Homes and Gardens, and Martha Stewart Living. At the 2024 Philadelphia Flower Show, he won a Gold Medal and The Governor’s Trophy.
Åsa Gregers-Warg is the Head Gardener at the Beth Chatto Gardens in Essex, England. Spending almost twenty years working alongside Ms. Chatto herself, she has an invaluable insight into the garden’s philosophy and planting principles.
Charlotte Harris is the co-founder of the award-winning Harris Bugg Studio, which has won three Gold Medals and a Best in Show at RHS Chelsea Flower Shows. Harris Bugg Studio has worked on a range of projects across the UK and Europe, including a residential garden in Dorset, England, which was named one of the World’s Most Beautiful Gardens by Veranda magazine.
Guests will enjoy coffee, lunch, and an afternoon tea reception during the Symposium. Books published by, or relating to, each of the four speakers will be available to purchase thanks to Farley’s Bookshop, located in New Hope, PA. Proceeds from the event will go toward funding paid internships for aspiring horticulturists and professional development opportunities for Andalusia’s horticulture staff.
