Bucks County Book Festival 2025: Celebrating Storytelling in Doylestown

The Bucks County Book Festival will be returning to Doylestown Borough over the weekend of May 2nd to 4th, 2025.

Presented by Discover Doylestown with generous support from the Doylestown and Lahaska Bookshops, this highly anticipated Bucks County event will conclude on Sunday, May 4th, with a special Keynote Event at Salem United Church of Christ, located at 186 E Court Street.

The event will feature bestselling author Laurie Halse Anderson in conversation with young adult and contemporary romance writer Nisha Sharma. Included with the ticket is a copy of Anderson’s latest release, “Rebellion 1776,” plus additional books by both authors available for purchase during the event.

The Main Festival, scheduled for Saturday, May 3rd, will take place at Broad Commons Park, located at 10 Doyle Street in Doylestown. This free, family-friendly event will feature various activities, including author panels, a local authors showcase, Kids Fest, vendors, food trucks, and a pop-up bookstore.

Kids Fest will offer storytelling sessions, face painting, chalk art, and the opportunity for young readers to meet distinguished children’s authors. Returning for 2025 is the popular “Craft Your Own ‘Zine” workshop.

Festivities will begin on Friday, May 2nd, with Books ‘n Brews, offering attendees the chance to engage with authors through discussions and book signings at three venues in downtown Doylestown: Hops/Scotch, The Hattery, and Artifact Brewing. Notable participating authors include Rachel Harrison, Dennis Mahoney, Jo Piazza, Ashton Lattimore, Lindy Ryan, Zach Berman, Betty Corrello, and Mike Sielski.

As these authors rotate between locations, readers can immerse themselves in captivating conversations surrounding literature, complemented by food and drinks where available. Admission also includes a $5-off coupon redeemable toward a book purchase.

The success of the Bucks County Book Festival is made possible through the dedication of volunteers. Those interested in lending their support can find additional information about volunteer opportunities at bucksbookfest.org/volunteer.
