The 2024-25 high school wrestling season in Bucks County has come to a thrilling conclusion, with champions crowned and future stars emerging. As the mats roll up and the medals settle, we take a final look at the best wrestlers across each weight class and the stories that defined this season.
At 107 pounds, Chase Williams of Central Bucks East made history by becoming just the second wrestler from his school to win a PIAA Class 3A state title, joining Marc Sodano in 1982.
Williams’ 40-2 record as a freshman signals a dominant career ahead. Meanwhile, at 114 pounds, Faith Christian’s Freddy Bachmann capped a perfect 43-0 season with a PIAA Class 2A title, standing as the No. 1 wrestler in the nation at his weight.
The 121-pound category saw senior Gauge Botero of Faith Christian finish 32-7, while 127-pounder Joey Bachmann, a sophomore, secured his second straight PIAA title with a 45-2 record.
Council Rock South’s Anthony Mutarelli took the 133-pound title with a 38-3 record, becoming the school’s first state champion since 2017.
In the 145-pound division, Eren Sement of Council Rock North joined an exclusive club, becoming only the second wrestler in program history to win a PIAA Class 3A title. His dominant 54-2 season was one of the best across all weight classes.
Faith Christian’s Max Stein (152 pounds) and Quakertown’s Collin Gaj (160 pounds) added to their legacies with remarkable seasons. Gaj, in particular, made history as the only Quakertown wrestler to win two PIAA Class 3A titles, finishing undefeated at 44-0.
At 172 pounds, Nick Singer of Faith Christian pulled off an incredible turnaround, going from an unranked wrestler last year to winning a state title in 2025.
Another Faith Christian star, Adam Waters, continued his dominance at 189 pounds with a flawless 46-0 record, capturing his third consecutive state championship. If he secures a fourth next year, he will become the first four-time state champion in District One history.
Jason Singer (215 pounds) and Mark Effendian (285 pounds) rounded out the list of Faith Christian standouts.
The season brought unexpected shifts, new No. 1s, and incredible moments that will be remembered in Bucks County wrestling history.
