Bucks County high school athletes delivered remarkable performances last week in basketball, wrestling, and indoor track & field.
In Girls Basketball, Mikaiya Durham of Abington sealed a 44-41 victory over Neshaminy with 18 points, including a clutch three-pointer.
Archbishop Wood’s Ryan Carter led her team with 19 points and six rebounds in a 53-44 win over Lansdale Catholic and followed it up with a season-high 26 points in a 49-38 victory over Cardinal O’Hara.
Bensalem saw strong contributions from Talia DiMichele, who had nine assists, nine points, and seven rebounds in a win over New Hope-Solebury, followed by 20 points against Hatboro-Horsham and 22 points against Conwell-Egan.
Mary Beck stepped up with a season-high 19 points, including six three-pointers, to edge Conwell-Egan 48-42, while Devon Bell added 16 points in a win over William Tennent.
In Boys Basketball, Paul Glantz of Abington powered his team to a comeback win over Pennsbury, scoring 11 points in a 54-48 victory.
Archbishop Wood’s Brady MacAdams nailed a decisive three-pointer late in the game and secured a 51-48 win over Cardinal O’Hara.
Meanwhile, Faith Christian’s Jagger Verbit had a sensational week, dropping 33 points and seven rebounds in one game and 32 points with 11 rebounds in another.
Conwell-Egan’s Antwone George dominated with 32 points, seven steals, and seven rebounds against Neumann-Goretti.
Then, in Girls Wrestling, there were outstanding performances at the Coal Cracker Invitational, where Julia Horger of Conwell-Egan and Savannah Witt of Palisades claimed championships with perfect records.
Caroline Hattala of Quakertown won the 190-pound title, pinning all five of her opponents.
For Boys Wrestling, CB East’s Chase Williams went undefeated with quick pins, and Freddy Bachmann of Faith Christian won the 114-pound title at Escape the Rock.
Quakertown’s Collin Gaj outdid himself with multiple pins to secure the 160-pound championship.
In Indoor Track & Field, Lorenz Forsmann of CB East won the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.05, while Trip Campbell of North Penn continued dominating the high jump, clearing 6-8 for another first-place finish.
Reese Miller of Gwynedd Mercy earned third in the mile run at 5:13.63, and North Penn’s Kennedy Blackwell won the triple jump with a 35-7.25 mark.
