For the 18th year, the Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company is hosting the Blaze of Glory 5K, a beloved event uniting the community in support of local heroes.
This year’s race will take place on Saturday, March 22, 2025, starting at 9:00 AM for the 5K and 8:30 AM for the 1-Mile Fun Run, held at 5064 Stump Road, Plumsteadville, PA.
The Blaze of Glory 5K is a chance to celebrate Plumsteadville’s community spirit while raising funds for the volunteer fire company that has served the area for 94 years.
The company covers parts of Plumstead and Bedminster Townships and handles around 325 emergency calls annually, ranging from house fires to rescues and more.
All proceeds directly support essential needs for the fire company. Outfitting a firefighter with safety gear costs over $5,500, while air packs for breathing safety run $8,500 each.
Fire truck replacements cost between $650,000 and $800,000. Thus, community contributions help bridge funding gaps, as tax revenue only covers 48% of the department’s budget.
This year, the race has gone fully digital. Participants can register online from their phone or desktop up to 10 minutes before the start.
Adding to the excitement is the 1-Mile Fun Run, a unique experience where participants are showered in nontoxic color powder.
What a great way to kick off the day and make the event memorable for participants of all ages.
As one of the most anticipated Bucks County events, the series features seven races, each supporting a local charity or organization.
By registering for three or more races, participants can enjoy discounted entry fees, earn points toward age-group awards, and receive exclusive medals and performance gear.
Parking for the race is limited at the firehouse, but additional spaces are available at the Giant parking lot at Stump Road and 611, just a short walk from the start line.
