Bucks County Tourism Grant Awards $600K to Local Groups

Over 10 Doylestown organizations were among 53 recipients of nearly $600,000 in grants distributed by the Bucks County Tourism Grant Program.

This initiative, a partnership between Bucks County and Visit Bucks County, supports tourism through funding marketing, events, exhibitions, product development, and capital improvement projects slated for 2025.

Funding for the grants comes from a lodging tax applied to visitors staying in Bucks County hotels, bed and breakfasts, and home-shares. That way, the tourism economy directly benefits from the contributions of travelers to the region.

This innovative funding model supports local businesses and simultaneously strengthens the county’s ability to invest in projects.

Since 2008, the Bucks County Tourism Grant Program has distributed over $7 million, helping more than 140 organizations bring meaningful projects to life.

The following Doylestown-based organizations, known for their contributions to local culture and Doylestown art, received grants.

Here is a list of the most notable ones:

  • BC Cares Educational Foundation
  • Bucks Beautiful
  • Bucks County Center for the Performing Arts
  • Bucks County Gilbert & Sullivan Society
  • Bucks County Historical Society
  • Bucks County Symphony Society
  • Discover Doylestown (Doylestown Business and Community Alliance)
  • Heritage Conservancy
  • James A. Michener Art Museum
  • Remedy Electrical Society
  • The TileWorks of Bucks County

This year’s program also recognized the Bucks County Wine Trail with the prestigious Charles H. Martin Grant, an honor awarded annually to celebrate contributions to local tourism.

The Bucks County Wine Trail has become a key attraction, drawing visitors with its scenic vineyards, artisanal winemaking, and community events.

Visit Bucks County, the county’s official destination marketing organization, is essential in promoting these attractions.

Through its strategic campaigns and partnerships, the organization successfully drives over 8.2 million visitors to the area each year.

This influx of tourism generates a staggering $1.2 billion in economic impact, supporting a thriving hospitality sector that sustains 28,675 jobs.
