The Bucks County Courier Times unveiled its 2024 high school football all-star team, which highlights the incredible talent of this season.
Featuring some of the best football teams 2024 brought upon, the list recognizes standout athletes from across Bucks and Montgomery counties, and it clearly shows the depth of talent in Bucks County football.
The first-team offense included La Salle junior quarterback Gavin Sidwar, who broke school records with 2,747 passing yards and 31 touchdowns, completing 69% of his throws.
Central Bucks West’s Ryan Clemens rushed for 1,713 yards and added 15 touchdowns, while Morrisville senior Raymond Holman ran for 1,893 yards and finished his career with a commitment to Morgan State University.
Players like Quakertown’s Aiden Burgy, who set school records with 925 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns, added to the remarkable season in Bucks County sport.
Top linemen included Jimmy Baker from Upper Moreland, a Suburban One League standout, and La Salle’s towering junior Grayson McKeough, who is already receiving offers from schools like Syracuse University.
North Penn’s Ryan Bocklet excelled on special teams, hitting 12 of 15 field goals and making all 47 extra points.
On first-team defense, Central Bucks South senior Ed Bowen dominated with 12 sacks, among the highest totals in PIAA Class 6A.
Pennsbury’s Walker Murray recorded 120 tackles, while La Salle’s Dylan Clair contributed 78 tackles and 6.5 sacks.
Defensive backs like North Penn’s Matt Pownall balanced offensive and defensive roles, rushing for 938 yards and five touchdowns.
The second-team offense and defense showcased emerging stars like Germantown Academy’s junior quarterback Xavier Stearn and Archbishop Wood’s senior running back Yasin Lowry.
And defenders like La Salle’s Jemel Williams and North Penn’s Christian Johns-Wallace made significant contributions.
La Salle head coach Brett Gordon earned Coach of the Year honors for guiding his team to another stellar season.
Meanwhile, North Penn, one of the best football teams of 2024, claimed Team of the Year recognition after finishing 11-3 and reaching the District One Class 6A title game.
“This season was better than any year I can remember in our league,” said North Penn’s head coach Dick Beck, praising the competition within Bucks County football.
Senior Aidan Eves credited the coaching staff for the team’s success, saying, “They gave us confidence; we just needed to execute.”
The 2024 Bucks County All-Star selections celebrate the remarkable effort, skill, and determination that defined this season in Bucks County sports.
So, as we can see, this season has definitely set a high standard for years to come.
