“Pruning Demonstration” is the featured topic of the Trevose Horticultural Society monthly meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m. at the Bensalem Senior Center, 1850 Byberry Road, Bensalem.
Guest speaker Gary Dunbar will discuss best pruning practices and demonstrate how to prune a variety of shrubs. Audience questions about how, when and why to prune their own shrubs for plant health and best flower display are encouraged. Time permitting, participants may try pruning cuts themselves for a practical, hands-on experience. A short video or PowerPoint presentation may accompany the hands-on demonstration.
Dunbar has grown everything from annuals to orchids, houseplants, trees, bog plants and even bonsai. His interest in all-things gardening naturally led to him becoming a Bucks County Master Gardener in 2007. Dunbar is very involved in their many activities, including providing a demonstration on pruning techniques to the Master Gardener Interns each year.
All meetings are open to the public; a donation of $5 is requested from non-members. For more information, call 856-866-9163, visit TrevoseGardeners.org or follow on Facebook.
