Briefcase theft
Bensalem Police are investigating a theft that occurred at the Taqwa Food Mart, located at 979 Bristol Pike, on Sept. 1. It was reported that an unknown black male entered the store and stole an employee’s briefcase that was behind the counter. The man then fled the area in an unknown direction.

Extended Stay theft
Bensalem Police are investigating a theft that occurred at Extended Stay America, located at 3216 Tillman Drive, on Sept. 4. It was reported that at approximately 3:45 a.m., an unknown black male entered the hotel’s office and stole cash and credit cards from an employee’s purse. He fled on foot in an unknown direction.

Target retail theft
Bensalem Police are investigating a retail theft that occurred at the Target located at 800 Rockhill Drive on Sept. 3. It was reported at approximately 9:30 a.m. that an unknown female entered the store and concealed numerous items into a stroller. The total value of the items was $704.64. She fled the area in a silver sedan.

9/11 First Responders Mass
The Bensalem Township Department of Public Safety is thankful to St. Ephrem Catholic Church and the Veterans of Andalusia for holding a 9/11 First Responder Mass on the 23rd anniversary of 9/11. It was attended by Mayor Joe DiGirolamo, students, police officers, firefighters and EMS personnel. The Veterans of Andalusua also provided lunch to police officers to show their support.
The Department of Public Safety said in a statement that it “will never forget the sacrifice our brothers and sisters made 23 years ago today. Their courage and selflessness embody what it means to be a first responder who regularly puts themselves in harm’s way to help others.”
